What if AJ Styles signed by the WWE in the Ruthless Aggression era?

by , in

The Phenomenal one:

No one will ever argue if I say that AJ Styles is the greatest TNA wrestler of all time, he is the cornerstone of that show alongside Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Abyss and many more TNA originals. But what could've AJ have missed if he was signed by the WWE in his prime years? That's about 2003-2008 i guess, and that's the time when Raw and Smack Down are beating each other toe-to-toe. If AJ Styles was in the WWE in that era, what brand seems to fit him? Raw or Smack Down, let's talk about it and comment down below your thoughts.

AJ Styles on Monday night Raw:

If AJ Styles was set to debut on Raw, he's a guaranteed champion. Whether a world title match or a mid-card title, everthing suits him well. We all saw him carry the intercontinental championship which is pretty cool to him. But what about AJ is wrapped with gold and I'm talking about the spinner belt. We all witnessed great matches between him and John Cena in 2016 up to 2017 Royal Rumble. I admit that I love the in-ring competition between them but an Attitude Adjustment off the top rope finished AJ sadly. What if AJ has been rivals with Raw superstars that time such as Rob Van Dam, Chris Benoit, Triple H and most of all Randy Orton. I also love his rivalry with Randy Orton in Smack Down live but it's a legendary run if The Phenomenal One will face The Viper 2009 Randy Orton in a WWE Championship.

The Dream match:

Many people are talking about AJ Styles vs Shawn Michaels, unfortunately we can't anymore because Shawn Michaels have retired earlier than we thought yet he still can wrestle the time AJ debuted in the WWE (Check out the retirement tour of HBK and if he continued a lot more in his career here)

I can't imagine how big of a match this is, the picture says Royal Rumble but this epic match deserve a spot in Wrestlemania. Both are resilient, tough and has a good strikes in their arsenal. Shawn Michaels might be more experienced but AJ Styles for me is more athletic and extreme performer. Who do you think would've win this? Comment down below guys.

WWE's GOAT vs TNA's GOAT:

John Cena and AJ Styles' match in Summerslam and Royal Rumble is a great sign that they both deserve those "GOAT" callings. It looks like a gladiator match between two great kingdoms and they are their representatives. I also love to see AJ take part of John Cena's retirement tour although they are not rival for so many years, yet it is already a classic when these two have clashed.

AJ Styles in Friday Night Smack Down:

Because of AJ Styles' adaptive in-ring skills, no matter what brand you put him, he's a guaranteed main event superstar. We're pretty sure that he will be a World Heavyweight Champion. If his contract was signed in 2010, Smack Down has already found their top star. (If you haven't seen yet, this what happened in Smack Down 2010) He can be a credible rival for Batista, Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Kane and most of all Edge who's a top heel in Smack Down that time. But we will never forget the rivalry of AJ Styles vs The Undertaker because if the storyline was built correctly and because AJ Styles may be as over as Jeff Hardy of 2008, AJ may be a great fit to beat The Undertaker if The Phenom is a World Heavyweight Champion.

Imagine it's 2007 or 2008 and Rey Mysterio or Batista is having a hard time beating Edge because of his dirty tactics and help from Vickie Guerrero. But lights turned off and there's someone wearing a hood appeared on stage and later revealed that AJ Styles has arrived in the WWE. That years, AJ Styles is so famous because he also wrestle in NWA and in TNA. The pop may be as loud as CM Punk's 2023 return or John Cena in 2008 Royal Rumble because finally, there is another man to stop Edge's menace and reign as the World Heavyweight Champion.

Another what if is The Undertaker vs AJ Styles on a regular Friday night episode of Smack Down. We've witnessed an amazing Boneyard Match between them and it's already a historical one even though it happened in the pandemic era. We saw CM Punk being a heel while he has the World Heavyweight Championship but what if a heel AJ Styles will face Jeff Hardy and most of all, The Undertaker.

Before we end this conversation, AJ Styles looked so jacked even though he is 48 years old (as of this moment of writing) and that means AJ can still wrestle for more years to come. As a kid who grow up watching these men in the Ruthless Aggression era or TNA Impact moments, let's appreciate our heroes while they're still able to compete, my dad told me that it's painful to see their childhood idols Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior and especially Hulk Hogan to be old and more sadly to pass away. That's why us millennials must enjoy the retirement tour of our idols because maybe someday there won't be a next match for them.

Sorry if those last messages were purely sad but thanks for reading again guys. Kindly share this to your socials if you've loved our topics so that we may spread wrestling talks online. Share your thoughts in the comments too. Have a good day. :)

What if CM Punk never left WWE in 2014

by , in

It's clobbering time!!!

In January 2014, that's one of the last time we hear "Cult of Personality" played in an arena. CM Punk left the WWE in 2014 due to a backstage heat and he is not pleased with the current WWE's creativity and most of all Vince and Triple H is not listening to their talents. CM Punk pursued other activities such as MMA and being a guest on podcasts or wrestling related shows. He came back in the wrestling business in 2021 as he joined AEW but later left it because of another backstage heat with a fellow wrestler Jack Perry.

But what if CM Punk stayed in the WWE for few more years and renewed his contract after what happened in 2014? Who could've been a part of his storylines? What role will he portray? The Best in the World or The Straight Edge Savior or The Second City Saint? Let me know what do you think guys. For me, this are my picks:

An endless feud with John Cena:

CM Punk and John Cena knows each other very well, they've fought so many matches, yet we're still satisfied about the product they serve. Same with HBK, Cena and Punk's feud last not too long in that year in 2011, yet they've brought so much history in just a couple of month fighting for the real WWE Championship.

A heel CM Punk vs a babyface Chris Jericho:

We've witnessed how personal their rivalry is. Jericho always say that "Your father is an alcoholic" knowing that Punk is a Straight Edge or someone who doesn't drink or smoke. They've had issues with each other and battled their asses for the WWE Championship and one of the headlines in Wrestlemania 28. CM Punk kept on winning it because he had the strength and the support of the WWE Universe because he is the babyface that time, but what if things turn around when they have switched places with Jericho? How brutal and personal could this rivalry be?

A title match with Randy Orton:

Randy Orton is a valuable superstar that helped Punk elevate his career by having an epic match in 2011 from Wrestlemania 27 up to Extreme Rules 2011. They gave their all to win those matches yet it is just a mid-card storyline. But what if Randy and Punk fight for the WWE Championship or the World Heavyweight Championship before it was merged back in 2014. Although they've feuded on a non-title match, it's also a great performance for both, but what if something is at stake? A world title on the line will add up the heat between them if that happened.

A streak ender?:

Another feud with The Undertaker will skyrocket Punk's career in the following years if that happened. CM Punk's mockery to The Undertaker led the way to their match in Wrestlemania 29 where both gave their best but still, The Phenom reigned supreme that night. They've faced each other more in 2009 for the World Heavyweight championship and it seemed that they've already built a chemistry between them that's why they have given us a main event caliber in Wrestlemania.

A Paul Heyman guy:

CM Punk will always be a Paul Heyman guy, they're good friends but their story have ended this year because of Heyman's betrayal to CM Punk and joined his rival Seth Rollins. Punk and Heyman can annoy and takeover Monday nights if Punk continued his career. Just imagine this, they can also build a powerhouse stable with CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Curtis Axel and Cesaro because all of them became Paul Heyman guys in a matter of time. Punk is the WWE Champion, Brock is the Universal Champion, Curtis Axel is the Intercontinental Champion and Cesaro is the United States Champion. But sadly it didn't happen.

If CM Punk didn't leave in 2014, he could've mentored The Shield more and make it as same as the Evolution. There won't be an angry Seth Rollins throwing F-bombs off camera when Punk returned in 2023 or rivalry with Seth "Freakin" Rollins will be as hot as the Triple H and Batista feud because it has the same vibe as a mentor vs student.

Before we wrap things up, we are thankful and happy to see CM Punk is back in action and now having many storylines planned for him. He has a beef with Seth Rollins, had built an outstanding reputation with Gunther and their rivalry, maybe there will be an unfinished business rematch with Drew McIntyre and so many more to come. Hey, I want to see CM Punk win a Royal Rumble or even win the United States Championship for him to be grand slam champion. Share me your thoughts in the comments on what do you think could've happened to Punk or what could be the future of Punk as he looks like to stay for 2 or more years because he's still healthy to compete. So long guys and feel free to share this or read something else and thanks for reading. :)

What if Money in the Bank was held in the Attitude Era?

by , in

Money money money money...!!!

Today, were not going to talk about just money. We're taking a look at the Money in the Bank ladder match. I've put Jeff Hardy and Rob Van Dam in this poster because they're one of the most extreme competitors and experts in ladder matches.

We all know that Money in the Bank ladder matches started in 2005 in Wrestlemania 21 that's won by Edge; a cunning yet a hardcore superstar. This match debut in Ruthless Aggression era and that's why it missed so many stars from the past that didn't reached that era. Attitude Era is one of the most brutal eras ever in WWF although they have a tough competition with WCW, they manage to survive the Monday night War with great storylines but what if this Money In The Bank ladder match occur back then, who could've won it? What are they gonna do to Mr. Money In The Bank and how is he gonna cash in? Let's dive through this and let me know your insight and imaginations about who do you think should've won it.

Team Extreme:

Of course, this is an extreme match, both of them should've won it even just once. Matt and Jeff Hardy have sacrificed their bodies to this type of matches and if the Money In The Bank ladder match happened before, this would've elevated the careers of one of these brothers and make an epic cash in on the hands of Triple H, The Rock or Steve Austin and build a top star on them.

Not only Mr. Wrestlemania but Mr. Money in the bank:

HBK for me is a credible superstar on whatever character he perform or portray in the ring whether he's a world champion or mid-card champion or even a carrier of a legendary briefcase. I know, he's already a superb performer at that time but this is a great opportunity for Shawn to give us more stellar ladder matches and this may add more drama and tension to a storyline given to him. This may also open up a great rivalry if he cashed in on The Rock or even turn on his buddy Triple H by cashing in on Him in the middle of a WWF Championship match. Add The Undertaker on his target on who's he gonna cash in to add more beef between them.

The Peep's choice:

Christian of course, Edge has ascended to the main event scene or as an individual performer before him. As a young talent back then, this may give Christian to even his career to his former tag team Edge and may create them a storyline and rivalry

We all know that Vince disliked Christian because of his lack of aura and in-ring impact but for me, Christian has amazing matches and an athletic performance every time he stepped up in the ring. The briefcase he has can add some character to him and may boost his career more if he cash it in to a top star WWF Champion.

The Game in the bank:

A young Hunter Hearst Helmsley could be a good choice winning the briefcase. At his age there, he can win it clean and wreck everyone before climbing the contract up. Even in his starting years, Triple H already brought dominance and in-ring skills in his arsenal. A Money In The Bank win can make him a valuable opponent to Ric Flair who he's teamed up with in the future in "Evolution" and to Hulk Hogan,The Undertaker and also to his Kliq teammate Kevin Nash.

Perc Angle:

Kurt Angle is another superstar who helped the WWF to carry the attitude era. He has epic matches with Triple H, The Rock, Undertaker and Eddie Guerrero that's why he's a great option on who to give the briefcase and cash in on any champion.

The dirtiest player of the game:

Ric Flair may be old this time and he's in WCW but he's a great example of a heel that everybody will hate. His dirty tactics fit the character of Mr. Money in the bank and what if Ric cash in on the biggest babyface of Attitude Era? In the likes of Mick Foley, The Undertaker or Steve Austin? He may do them dirty if he cash in for another world title run.

Latino Heat:

Most of all, the man who lied, cheated and stole something from his opponents. Eddie Guerrero is one hell of a man to have that briefcase and build more of his cheating tactics with the contract with him. Eddie can cash in on anybody and will bring absolute pop to the arena. Eddie's character suits the essence of being Mr. Money in the bank due to his cheating and other antics that may seem annoying to anyone who he's cashing in with.

To sum things up, Attitude Era has the fiercest and most extreme moments in the history of WWF and WWE, but this particular match started in Ruthless Aggression to lift up careers such as Edge, CM Punk, Rob Van Dam and many more. The ladder match adds tension on who's gonna win and the audience is already picking up their bets to win among 6 to 8 competitors. This may fit the Attitude Era but this help the Ruthless Aggression era to build more characters and to give us a physical battles that we truly enjoy. That's for today guys and thanks again on catching up with me and feel free to read more and share this in your socials to spread the happenings about what ifs of wrestling. Stay tuned and hopefully you've enjoyed it.

What if Shawn Michaels beat the streak at Wrestlemania 26?

by , in

"The boyhood dream has come true"

Do you think this boy... I mean this sexy boy could've extended his career even just a year or two? As we can remember, he retired in Wrestlemania 26 to face his consequence in the "Career vs. Streak" match with The Undertaker, but who knows? He still can wrestle up until Wrestlemania 28 where he's the referee of the "End of an Era" Hell in a Cell match. HBK is truly a decorated superstar and he has nothing to prove anymore because we already witnessed why he is Mr. Wrestlemania.

2010 is a year when he is obsessed on beating Undertaker's streak after last year's epic match and others named it as their greatest match of all time, one match ain't enough for their heated rivalry that's why HBK demanded to ask The Phenom one more match and he will do anything for The Undertaker to accept his challenge.

They gave us so many hints that Michaels is capable of beating The Undertaker at Wrestlemania due to the drama they've brought from 2009's Slammy Awards up to Elimination Chamber 2010 PPV where he have provoked Undertaker and made him lose the World Heavyweight Championship due to his interference. But what could've been the outcome and possible storylines of Shawn Michaels if he continued his legendary career? This is just my opinion and share me the stories you're thinking for us to discuss and be amazed on how good you guys to book a match and a storyline. I'm giving you my 5 possible stories for Shawn Michaels:

Of course, after a grueling match is a legendary performance for both, yet a legacy has been cemented to HBK and he's not only a legend, but can be also in the Mount Rushmore of the company. Me personally, I consider The Undertaker as my greatest because for me, being in a wrestling history to win 21 wins straight on the biggest event is a better achievement than a World Title count.

World Heavyweight Champion:

Of course, he have made history in Wrestlemania to put an end to a legendary streak, why not put gold in his waist one more time to give HBK his credit. Draft HBK to Smack Down and compete for the World Heavyweight Championship because rumors tell that Shawn hated the WWE Championship spinner belt and willing to win it unless he will use the undisputed one. As what I've said earlier, HBK has already nothing to prove because he is already a successful superstar yet this championship will only symbolize his dominance and credibility of a top-guy at his age at this moment. He can also lift careers of that young Smack Down core.

Possible Wrestlemania 27 Main Event:

Some people say that Wrestlemania 27 is a lackluster event because of the main event is only focused on the next year's Wrestlemania. Another Wrestlemania match for HBK and Undertaker could've headline it for the World Heavyweight Championship and this time, Undertaker will win and could've won the 2011 Royal Rumble instead of Alberto Del Rio for the opportunity in the World title scene in Wrestlemania. This is also the first time where a trilogy of a rivalry will occur in Wrestlemania for 3 straight times unlike other rivalries where they may meet 3 times but in interval instances such as The Rock vs Austin, Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar. This is a rivalry that can really lift the drama of the entire Wrestlemania 27. This is also a great counterpart as main event of Smack Down because Raw is busy on building up John Cena vs The Rock for the next year.

End of an Era could've been a Triple Threat:

I know it's redundant for HBK to be World Heavyweight Champion or either of them in the picture because they all deserve it for multiple times and yet they're still not a bad choice on who will carry it. This 3 legends elevated the Attitude Era alongside The Rock and Steve Austin. Triple H should've won this and mark Undertaker's last title picture and make Shawn Michaels his last few years in the company.

Reunite DX and destroy Nexus:

The same year HBK retired is the year Nexus have invaded Monday Night Raw and targeted John Cena, but what if these 2 superstars combined is a force that can fit team Cena or maybe manhandled the Nexus just as what they've done to the Spirit Squad in 2006-2007. They won't bury the Nexus like what Cena's ego have done, they may give them better storyline, better matches and most of all better careers if they've been more memorable because of their rivalry with DX same as the Legacy.

Make him a grand slam champion:

One last moment I want to see is Shawn Michaels to be a United States Champion to make his resume a grand slam champion. He may be entitled a grand slam because he won the European Champion later retired and made it the United States championship. Remember in 2010 where Bret Hart has been a US Champ? That's one perfect opportunity for an unfinished business although Bret doesn't seem to fit the competition that time, HBK is a credible superstar to carry it through.

To finalize this topic, that's how good Shawn Michaels is, he can win or lose a match without burying his career. Shawn has put over some young stars back then such as John Cena, Batista and Randy Orton, yet HBK's career doesn't seem to be affected by those losses but made him a better in-ring competitor. Let me know in the comments on what could possibly be Shawn Michaels' retirement match if he did beat the streak. Stay tuned for more guys and thanks for reading. Kindly share this on your socials to spread the what ifs of wrestling and make this blog relatable to many more wrestling fans. See you soon guys.:)

Who deserved a push on the World Championship in Smack Down 2010?

by , in

"Let it roll!!! Let it roll!!!"

Another chapter of Friday Night Smack Down back in 2010, I really love that roster because they have the mid-card competitors that became world champions in the near future such names are Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, Jinder Mahal and more.
This is not a part 2 of my first blog about Smack Down 2010 what ifs but this is a discussion on who should've grabbed the spotlight and been world champion on that year and help elevate the brand on a skyrocketing Raw. As you can remember Raw is stacked with main event stars such as Sheamus, Edge, Chris Jericho, Batista and the top 2 babyfaces in John Cena and Randy Orton. Smack Down shouldn't be left out by making better storylines and create a go-to guy to carry the brand and join the spurt on a roughhousing menace happening on Monday nights. The Nexus story is a classic and that's the reason why did they draft more top-tier performers on Raw to help them put Nexus over, but there's still interesting stories made in Smack Down such as CM Punk and Rey Mysterio's feud and The Undertaker and Kane's buried alive match story.

To those who hate Jack Swagger as the World Champion, it's okay I understand. I've watched his matches, it's decent but not a World Championship material for me. No offense to Jack but he may be an Intercontinental Champion rather. So in that case, I'll note down the superstars that I think should've won the title and make Swagger's title reign shorter than it should've been:

"The Big Gold on The Gold Standard"

Raise your hands guys if you think that Shelton Benjamin deserved a World Heavyweight Championship reign? That era is the perfect opportunity for Shelton to grab that gold away from Jack Swagger. Instead of the Intercontinental Champion only, he should've had the World Heavyweight Title in his hands. What storyline can he be involved with?

  • Shelton Benjamin vs CM Punk: A babyface Shelton versus The Straight Edge Savior. They already have a feud in ECW and it's a pretty good one for me but that time CM Punk won and retained the ECW title.
  • Shelton Benjamin vs The Undertaker: I've watched their match in Smack Down in April 2009 and I loved it. I come to think of it that this is a great rivalry in the making. The Undertaker won of course yet Shelton didn't hold back and give a good fight.

"Captain Charisma"

The next world champion is just nearby waiting for a title opportunity yet he's not been pushed until Edge retires. I really believed that Christian deserves a spot in Smack Down's main event and be a top star in that moment. Rather than being a champion, they book him to lose to Kofi, Cody Rhodes and others. He has been a World Champion but he should've been earlier than that. This guy carried ECW on his back a year ago yet it's not yet a proof for him to be pushed? Why? If he's the world champion, who could've been his rivals? This is just my opinion and feel free to comment down who'd you think:

  • Christian vs Shelton Benjamin: Have you watched their ladder match? Pretty damn good eh? That doesn't mean that we're going to recreate their matches, they can make a new and hotter rivalry for a bigger gold. Shelton may be stronger and has a tough wrestling background but Christian has a faster offense.
  • Christian vs Jack Swagger: This is Christian's chance to defend his World Championship to the "All-American American" because the last time they faced each other is in ECW and unfortunately he have lost. Redemption time for Christian and it may seem a long-term storytelling because of their previous rivalry on the other brand.

"One half of Team Extreme"

One of the most underrated star on that roster is Matt Hardy. He deserved a World Heavyweight championship even just once and hold it for a month is already satisfying to see. It's hard to see him to be overshadowed by his brother Jeff. Although Jeff is over to the fans but let's give Matt his flowers and honor his in-ring performance by letting him hold the big gold even for a while. There are some rivalries that I think can fit his style and his championship reign that may benefit the Blue brand. This is just my opinion guys and tell me yours too:
  • Matt Hardy vs MVP: Remember their beef before Wrestlemania 24? They battled out for the United States Championship and it's a hot pick tho. MVP is another upper mid-card caliber that can give him a hard time as a reigning champion. This is so hot that this can be a trilogy of 3 different PPV.
  • Matt Hardy vs Rey Mysterio: They've feuded in Wrestlemania 19 right? Matt Hardy Version 2 is a pretty decent heel that can punish the Masked man and it could be a rivalry and let Rey recapture the World Champion to him.

"I'm coming... for the World Heavyweight Championship"

Montel Vontanious Porter is another great pick to be in the main event of Smack Down. He is always a contender for the WWE Championship in 2008 and even competes against legends but never been credited a World title run. MVP has an exciting feuds that can fuel up his title run, here's my ideas to that:

  • MVP vs Kane: Remember the Inferno match? MVP lost there but he may seek retribution this time as he has the power because he has the gold in his waist. This could be another banger that can benefit both careers and elevate the brand.
  • MVP vs Finlay: They both survived the chaos in the 2006 - 2009 Smack Down and win the mid-card titles, this feud may seem mid but with the help of storytelling they can develop it's quality.

"There's a Trouble in Paradise"

Kofi Kingston should've won the Money In The Bank last Wrestlemania 26 but because of backstage heat and criticisms from Vince Mcmahon, his push discontinued and gave the briefcase to Jack Swagger instead. He runs the mid-card so good alongside an endless feud with Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental championship. They could've stepped up and fight for the World Championship instead. Here are the other rivals that may fit Kofi's title reign:

  • Kofi Kingston vs Drew McIntyre: Yes, it's so repetitive to see them share the ring again and again but the stakes are higher this time because it's for the World Heavyweight championship.
  • Kofi Kingston vs Big Show: I remember the injury of Kofi in his chest caused by Big Show's chop, it can be an angle to look at when building their rivalry. This rivalry will also push Kofi to the moon because he's encountering a really huge blockade in his title reign. This matches may also mark Big Show's heel run as he hinders one of the top babyface in Smack Down that time.

"All Hail King Booker!"

Just an honorable mention, I remember Booker T is in Smack Down commentary team alongside Josh Matthews and Matt Striker. What if they've given him one more title shot to honor his in-ring contribution? Who knows what star power can he add in the roster. He may face Kane, Rey Mysterio and Big Show for that title.

Before we end this conversation, we're just foreseeing Smack Down 2010 and trying to rewrite history with our insights, comment down below on who do you think deserve a World Title run in that roster. Thanks for reading again guys and kindly share this to your socials to let others know this relatable posts. Stay tuned for more.
